The Skunk Train!

While staying in Bodega Bay... we drove 3 hours north! Destination: Fort Bragg's Skunk Train! We left our hotel room at 6am... quite early for a vacation morning! The curvy road along the California shoreline made Mommy quite sick... but after a box of Ritz Crackers... driving Daddy bonkers with my requests "slow down!" ... "go faster!" ... "don't turn so sharp!"... and turning the air on and off... I felt a bit better! We arrived in Fort Bragg just after 9am... just in time to go to the bathroom, check in, and board the train!

The train ride was absolutely beautiful! 40 miles... 30 bridges... towering Redwoods... lunch stop in Northspur... passing over the Noyo River... all the while learning about the logging railroad!

Thankfully this was not the "coach car" we were riding in!

All Aboard!

Pulling out of the station... of course, with a bag of popcorn!

Taking it all in...

Poor lil' guy... early morning.... early nap!

Greg Schindel... The Train Singer... kept everyone entertained!

Noyo River

The bearings on our Steam Engine began running hot... so, our trip home took a little longer! We had to be pulled over the last hill by a Diesel!

Logan entertained us with his sense of humor... and "mean" faces!

"I've been work'n on the railroad..."

Logan and Lorielle dancing! Ever since we took Logan to see Disney On Ice... he thinks he needs to lift his foot high in the air to dance! Oh Buddy!

A "cabin" the railroad workers lived in at one time.

In January 2010, a "micro-burst" hit a square mile of the Redwoods! Winds reach 200 mph!

Second nap!

Ice Cream!

A fun, fun experience!
