This year... our summer vacation plans were "up in the air" until the very last second. Literally! Daddy's scheduled vacation isn't until August... after Lorielle begins 3rd grade! So, that isn't going to work! Would it be possible to get away on one of Daddy's "long weekends"... and if so... where could we go? Would Loma Linda call and schedule Logan's appointment during our planned time away? What to do... what to do? Decisions! Decisions! We all had lots of ideas as to where we should go... but, Daddy had one specific idea! One that he wouldn't let go... Yosemite! At first... well, okay I will be honest... until we actually drove into the park... I wasn't all that "excited". I wasn't quite sure if the kiddos would be ready for this type of "vacation"... it was going to be hot... really hot... and oh, the crowds! Yuck! But... we decided to go for it. Bob took an extra day off of work... I packed like a "crazy mommy"... and the kiddos couldn't wait... and so away we went!

6 a.m. ... and on the road!
Our plan was to get there as soon as we could... and then relax the rest of the afternoon! We checked into the hotel at 12pm... and we were all so very excited to see Yosemite... we decided to grab lunch... and head to the park!

Waterfalls everywhere... I mean everywhere! 
It was slightly under 100 degrees the first day! HOT no doubt! So after sight seeing a bit... finding a place to cool off was a must! Because of the huge snow pack this winter... and the hotter than usual June temperatures... there was lots of water! Dangerous rushing rivers, lakes, streams, puddles... we are talking water everywhere. The beauty was breathtaking!
This became Lorielle and Logan's favorite spot in Yosemite to spend a lil' down time... cool off... and have fun! They named it the "muddy river".
The water was soooooo cold... but, felt so good!

The rushing water was so loud we couldn't even hear each other speaking!
The Upper Falls...
We couldn't take our cameras to the falls because there was so much mist... we were absolutely drenched! So, I went with Lorielle first... returned soaking wet... and then it was Daddy and Logan's turn.

Dinner time!
We didn't want to leave the park... in fact... we drove the loop two more times as we headed out because we wanted to take it all in! We had an hour drive back to the hotel... and Lorielle and Logan still wanted to go swimming. Our first afternoon in Yosemite was absolutely amazing, breathtaking, incredible... pictures and words cannot even begin describe it! We can't wait to return tomorrow! Picked up dinner on the way back... went swimming for an hour... showered... and hit the pillows about midnight. Long day... but, amazing in every way!
