Eat It Map!

Lorielle's first 3rd grade project is an "Eat It Map". The class is studying the Four California Regions in Social Studies. The assignment: The State of California - on a cookie sheet... displaying the 4 regions... all in food!
Lorielle and I started the project...
making the base with frosting and graham crackers.

Coloring the coconut...
The supplies... food coloring, sprinkles, brown sugar, coconut, marshmallows - white and chocolate, Hershey's kisses, chocolate chips, frosting and graham crackers...

Daddy helping with mapping out the state.

Starting with the valley region...

Different colored coconut representing the many crops that are grown in the valley region.

Crushing the graham crackers for the desert region.

Working on the mountain region... chocolate marshmallows, kisses - topped with powdered sugar (snow)... and small chocolate chips for the smaller mountains.

Brown sugar for the coastal region (sand)... and blue sprinkles for the ocean.

Looking good!

Lorielle can't wait to take it to school... have it graded... and then EAT IT!

She also had to include a legend.

Ta-Da!

Awesome job!
And of course, this morning it is pouring down rain... thankfully daddy is home... and can carry it carefully under the umbrella!
Grade...
A+
Way to go Lorielle!
