Today!

Today... it is finally here! Yes, November 6th, 2008... not a "big deal" for most... just another ordinary Thursday... but, for our family... it is the long awaited appointed for Lorielle with the GI Specialist at Children's. Bob was able to persuade them to move her appointment from December 3rd... to today... and we are so relieved!

So... we ask for your prayers... lots of them... please! Lorielle still isn't eating very much... has lost weight... and still seems to be in constant discomfort/pain. Whether she has a very low pain tolerance (like Daddy!)... or whether she has a high pain tolerance (like Mommy!) is something we don't know... but, she constantly complains that her tummy is hurting. Two weeks ago, she was close to being admitted to the hospital... and although she seems to be doing better from that week long "episode"... she still isn't herself. She has become very irritable... and grumpy... I am sure not only from not feeling "good"... but, from not eating much... and having low blood sugar.

Unfortunately, with this appointment I am sure a series of tests will follow - more lab work, possibly an upper GI, etc. ... and Lorielle... well, she just isn't a very good patient. Poor thing! Last time we took her for blood work, it took my mom, myself, and 3 nurses to hold her down. She definitely didn't show her godly side... as she was kicking, hitting, and screaming at the top of her lungs. I think she even tried to bite the nurses arm... hhhmmm... not a good thing! Plus, her tummy is so sensitive... so any testing that requires her to drink something... well, I just don't think it will stay down. So, please pray for our little girl. We just want this all to be over with!

Of course, we are hoping and praying it is "nothing" - just the "Checkwood stomach"... she worries like crazy and gets so nervous over the littlest of things. She comes by it honestly... it is a CHECKWOOD trait that has been passed along from generation to generation! We pray God's wisdom will fill the doctors and that a diagnosis can be made... and treatment (if necessary) can begin.
