In Celebration of my dear Grandma's life... my Aunt Darlene, Uncle Herald, and Cousin Cindy flew to California to attend my Grandma's Memorial! We spent three priceless - very fast - days with them! We laughed... we cried... and enjoyed every single second of being together! We miss you already... and can't wait to see you again!
My dad... oh yes... my dad! He is quite the joke-ster... and thought he would play a "big one" on our relatives. Aunt Darlene was here last June... but, Uncle Herald and Cindy haven't seen my dad in years! Of course, we all know how much hair he has, right? He decided that he would buy a "wig" (from the party store) and wear it... and wait and see how long it took for someone to say something. My mom and dad had a bet to see whether they would be honest with him and tell him how ridiculous he looked with a "rug"... or whether they would be nice and hold back their comments. It is difficult to see in the picture... but, the wig had several colors... a bit of blonde, a bit of black, maybe a few streaks for "grey", but in the sun the "grey" sparkled. We weren't sure if Lorielle could stay quiet... but, she did!
We had to stop right before the airport so he could put it on...
A little help from my mom... a few bobby-pins... a quick comb... his hat... and he was set!
So... we picked them up at the airport... Right away, my uncle comments that my dad has gotten quite a bit of grey since the last time he saw him. Too funny! Bob and I could barely keep a straight face... we noticed Aunt Darlene taking a double take... Cindy... well, I could tell she wanted to say something... but, didn't. We headed to the restaurant for dinner... and I was so HOPING someone would say SOMETHING because I DID NOT want to sit with my dad at the table looking like this. But, no one said a word... The man at the table next to us could barely keep a straight face. Logan said "Papa, what happened?" ... but, our relatives from Oregon said NOTHING! So, we drove home... by this time it has been well over two hours... sit down to visit at my mom's house... still nothing! Finally about 30 minutes into our conversations... right in the middle of a sentence... my aunt slaps her hand down on the sofa and says "Okay Andy, what is with the hair?" ... and we all burst out into laughter! It was so funny... and will be a memory we will talk about for years to come! Silly Uncle Andy as Cindy would say!

.~ ' Fun Family Times '~.
Cindy and I are like sisters... and I think it took everything we had to stay up past midnight each night... but, it took everything we had not to go to bed because we knew we only had 3 days together!
