Happy Birthday Hun!

One of the best things about your birthday this year was taking Lorielle out for a little shopping trip. She was so excited to plan your party! What party? She didn’t tell me she was planning a party but by the end of the trip, and getting home…hmmm, what do you know, a birthday party celebration was under way!

O’l Logan had fun too, watching his mommy open presents (some that Lorielle had picked out all by herself!) and eating cake! It was a fun time but it didn’t last long enough! Which leads me to this…

On my way to work today I was listening, or rather half listening to the radio not paying much attention to what they were singing about, but something caught my attention. I listened closer, and was really moved by what was said. I won’t admit to breaking out crying…I’m thinking to myself…get a grip! But it really was meaningful. When I got to work I looked up the stations web page and thankfully they had a history of songs they had played earlier in the day. I was proud of myself for catching a good song before Lisa did. (I learned from her that you can learn something about life by not just listening to the music, but the words as well!) Remember, I am a man, and men are simple creatures! Hmmm…song…must listen….I’m hungry…..must eat….must build fire! Anyway…where am I going with this?

Oh yeah!... The song was by Darius Rucker. The song is called “It Won’t Be Like This For Long.”

This song reminded me, that as birthday’s come and go…it’s going all so fast, and I too just want it all to last. I’m thankful for you Lisa, and I thank you for Lorielle and Logan and for our special family that I get to share in every single day! You’re the best wife and best mom to our kiddos that I could ever ask for…I'm not that great with words, but since you love music here goes - Brad Paisley can sum it up for me - "She's Everything!" - "It Did" - "Waiting On A Woman" - "The World" - "Two People Fell In Love".
